I've Got A Woman...No, seriously.
I'm still in 'Country denial'. I don't do country (unless there's a substantial paycheque involved). Anyway, like I said in an earlier blogpost - When I've been well enough I've been sitting in my bedroom with a digital recording deck trying to write and record an album worth of songs. I have about 6 now and need 10 (minimum). This is one of them...as per the request from Delores. You tell me if this is Blues or Country lol? There's nothing to see on the video - only hear, so you may as well carry on with other things if you are kind enough to listen. Thanks :)

Firstly, I really like this Rory!
ReplyDeleteit's very emotive.. and sounds great
Interestingly, I hear aspect of both blues and country!..
Thank you Dawna - that's really kind of you. Maybe I'll have to describe it as 'Country Blues' lol.
DeleteVery beautiful......very very country.
ReplyDeleteThanks Delores - Much appreciated. Oh well....back to the drawing board I guess then lol.
DeleteIt sounds like a country song, but the way you sing it isn't country. Like you, I don't do country. I can listen to maybe one or two songs, and then I have to switch the radio station. That said, I do like this song very much!
ReplyDeleteHey Megan - I'm the same. Two Country songs is about my limit lol. Thank you for liking it however :)
DeleteI agree country and very nice too
ReplyDeleteThanks John - I may have to reinvent myself lol.
DeleteVery, very nice. Who cares what genre it gets labeled? Let others do that - especially if they want to pay you to use it. I've been very busy lately so just in case I haven't done so yet, let me say how good it is to have you back here again. Bestest wishes & etc.
ReplyDeleteHa thanks Stevil - Good to see you too :)
DeleteThe Country or Blues question is a bit superfluous. Should stop struggling with it if I were you. You have a beautiful singing voice which holds the attention but the song's a bit weak, pretty enough, but needs something more innovative in it. More words, perhaps even a story! Sounds like I'm saying embrace that Country music, boy :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Alec - when my personal development coach, music advisor, manager/agent first heard it he said 'Boring, too much use of the word woman ...move on.'
DeleteI may have to embrace country lol - seems it's what I do best.

ReplyDeleteGod knows what made me click on your blog to see if you were still MIA (so have I been so you're forgiven). How nice to see you back Rory and pleased to hear of your gradual recovery. You do have a lovely voice. I'd class the song as crossover country. Get busy on those other 4 songs young man. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteHey Craig - I am working on them - but have yet to really develop a 'style' - maybe crossover will be my thing? Anyway, good to see you :)

ReplyDeleteIt's more folky than anything. You remember the folky days? Sort of country, but not really. Anyway, I like it! <3
ReplyDeleteI have to say Austan - I was thinking 'folky' when I wrote it but used a blues chord progression. Oh I should stop fretting over these things and just let it be. Good to see you :)
DeleteHey Rory, where the hell are you?
ReplyDeleteI had the pleasure of working closely with Mr Pedro for several years as business partners. During the time that Pedro and his loan company team served as the Mortgage Representative for my home also for my business financing and he helped me closing off loans which really helped me in my business today, we were consistently far above our goal and this can only be attributable to Mr Pedro's hard work. I appreciate your hard work and also big thanks to your team for helping me with a loan to grow my business. If you are looking for a loan of any kind, contact Mr Pedro on....pedroloanss@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteWhatsapp +393510140339 Mr Pedro is an honest loan officer working with a huge number of investors willing to finance any project.
Thankfully, over time our relationship grew beyond work and I’m still happy to call him a trusted friend.
