If a picture paints a thousand words then this short video film I made yesterday, hopefully speaks volumes. Sorry folks I don't want to make anyone melancholy or depress anyone today lol - I just felt a real need to at least 'do something' and have it on record.
You made that Rory? It's exceptional not only in it's content but also it's execution. You missed your calling. It's both depressing and infuriating. But if governments can't even be trusted to keep finances afloat, what good are they with the planet?
Beautifully done Rory....Sending it to your local governmental representative? Does your local TV station have a spot for locals to air things like this? It needs to be seen by more than just your loyal followers. All the way through that clip I kept saying to myself, "yes, there is something wrong, and that something is us". Is surgery day getting closer?
It is... sad (makes me cry, if I'm honest) and beautifully done, Rory. This really does need to be seen. We can't just ignore this stuff.
I wonder sometimes... if evolution occurs out of necessity, and manifests itself as love and intelligence, if there will come a day when those of us who care, evolve individually and collectively to a point whereby we rise against the soul-less parasites among us and work together to restore our planet. These people are damn good at what they do, but that's all they know. If people would stop fighting and killing over religious and political agendas, maybe we could actually get somewhere.
Delores I feel as though I've committed my fist cybercrime today lol. I've been spamming it around every forum I could get into which touched on these subject matters - I even got myself banned from one for spamming :) I'm just waiting on the CIA or the FBI knocking on the door now :)
Carrie what a nice comment - I am in pain and it's really the pain of feeling helpless, voiceless. The problems you highlighted are precisely the problems we face. The whole world is in for a very rude awakening soon and it really hurts to be aware of that. Some powers that be of course are wakening up to it - I'm cutting and pasting something a Senator in the USA stated today -
The United States is on a pace in 2011 to set a record for the cost of weather-related disasters and the trend is expected to worsen as climate change continues, officials and scientists said on Thursday.
"The economic impact of severe weather events is only projected to grow," Senator Dick Durbin said at a hearing of the Senate Subcommittee on Financial Services and Government, which he chairs. "We are not prepared. Our weather events are getting worse, catastrophic in fact."
As long as there is money to be made, energy to be found, investors hungry for profits, the earth will be ignored. Six months after the BP oil disaster, people were again clammoring drill, baby, drill. History no longer teaches, but money still talks.
But has it not always been thus? This planet of ours is outrageous and self-healing in equal quantities. We become depressed then elated. I live in such a beautiful place that annual disasters seem to be just part of life ELSEWHERE. Maybe I should start worrying!
No pillorying at all! You've done an outstanding job depicting what should of major concern to every intelligent person in the world. Beautifully done. And yes, it must must MUST have a wider audience.
Thank you everyone! Cro Magnon - The particular events have always happened in the past but not in such close order. Fish die, birds die, floods happen and tornadoes wreak havoc - but not all at the same time. The USA 'budgets' for 4 natural emergencies annually - already this year has seen 8 occur with half the year still to go. In fact a Senator on the finance committee stated yesterday that the USA had better get ready for hard times financially due to the weather which he says is forecast to cataclysmic for years to come - it went largely unreported due to the budget deficit talks...
